Concentration Of Water Hardness In Grains Per Gallon

*Consumers are advised to be certain that they understand exactly what benefits are claimed before they purchase any water conditioner device.

Water Softeners: Fact vs. Fiction:

There is great confusion in the marketplace about the differences between water softeners and water softeners. A Softener will produce Soft Water. A Conditioner will produce Conditioned Water.

What does Conditioned Water really mean?

The catchall term “conditioned water” as defined by the WQA* is, “Any water which has been treated by one or more processes to improve the water’s usefulness and/or aesthetic quality by reducing undesirable substances or undesirable conditions.”

So Conditioned Water can be Soft Water, but not ALL Water Conditioners are able to Soften Water.

Traveling Gypsies

My Brother and sister-in-law are  quite the travelers. In the last year and a half they have spent many months in their RV traveling and exploring all around the US and Canada.  Some days I am envious but most I am just happy for them.

Their grand adventure began in Sept. 2007 after they bought a 35 ft. fifth wheel from Big Sky RV in Bozeman Montana.

They traveled from Montana through Wyoming to Devils Tower. Then on to South Dakota to see Mount Rushmore. Still traveling east they headed to Minnesota where they saw a Corn Cob Palace, and then to Wisconsin where they saw acorns for the very first time because we don’t have those in the part of Montana we live in. After that they head towards  Illinois and choose to skirt around Chicago because of all the construction.

With there destination still farther east they continued through Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York until they reached their first destination at the Mountain View Campground and Cottages in Morrisville,Vermont, a small town very near Stowe, Vermont. They choose this destination because they had always wanted to see the fall foliage in Vermont. They also got to try real Vermont Maple Syrup and Cider Donuts, and Cabot Cheese and Vermont Chocolate, and they even bought a Vermont Teddy Bear.

After a three week stay they moved on to the Red Apple Campground in Kennebunkport, Maine, you know where former Pres. George Bush Senior lives for part of the year. Here they played in the ocean, collected seashells and sand dollars. And Enjoyed the 70 degree weather.  One of Kerry’s favorite parts of Maine was the Wedding Cake Houses, but the boys favorite was eating Maine Lobster!

This was just their first 6 weeks of travel and I will share more later about the “Traveling Gypsies” in their Jayco 5th Wheel later!

Divorce Lawyers

Recently I read an article about a law firm in New Jersey called http://www.salvaggiolaw.net/ and what I read was most surprising especially since all I have ever hear is bad jokes and stories about lawyers.

I was surprised because these lawyers really seemed to care about their clients and wanted to help them in any way possible, even going so far as letting the clients know about resources that are available to them out side of their  law firm.  Most people caught up in a divorce would not think about what other resources are out there to help them move forward.

So Kudos to the guys at Salvaggio Law!

Infertility Test and Treatments

Here is a site my cousin utilized after finding out she had endometriosis.

This website http://www.infertilitytutorials.com/provided information written in plain language to people who are struggling with infertility. The medical information may initially seem overwhelming. They suggest reading sections of interest at your own pace while referring to the drawings, photographs and case presentations whenever available.

You may expect a tremendous benefit after obtaining a basic understanding of the available infertility tests and treatments. Potential benefits include more effectively communicating with your physician, acceptance of a management plan that would otherwise seem undesirable, ability to propose and discuss alternative plans that would better serve your own unique goals, and regaining a sense of control by participating in decisions about your management.

Helping Family Find A Home

Over the summer and this last fall I was a very buys girl. But now I have a new project ahead of me! My dear sister-in-law and her family would like to have a vacation home here in the Flathead Valley. So I have been looking and still even with the slow economy it has been difficult to find an affordable vacation home.

But I did stumble upon this site: http://www.fre.com which offers online residential real estate via an auction. I was not sure what they were offering so I investigated some more and here is what I found.

FRE offers online residential real estate auctions which allows you to bid on residential real estate anytime and from anywhere, highlighting location, property details and complete auction information. And with even further investigation I found that they had not only affordable prices but there were several choices for my family to choose from. So it now looks like we might be having more family moving into the valley. Yea! My brother and Sister-in-law are the only ones with children at home. We are looking forward to many fun camping, hunting and fishing trips.

If you are looking for an affordable 1st home or vacation home. I would check out this company. They have homes available in many different states.

Busy Bee

Filed under: Family and Pets!! — boogirlknudsen @ 12:34 pm

I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything and I could give you a million excuses to explain why but the truth is that I just haven’t had the time.  I have family over for a visit and it’s been hectic.

I will say one thing really quick.  I think my humming birds are mad at me.  I changed out the nectar in their feeder and they haven’t been around as much as normal.  I don’t think they like this batch as much as they did the last.  I’ll have to change it again and try to get it right!!!  Bad me!!!

What the Addition has meant to the birds

Filed under: Family and Pets!!,Home Improvements — boogirlknudsen @ 4:01 pm

Kind of an interesting title for this post huh??  Well I decided that today I would write about something that has been stealing my attention for the past few days.  I love growing things and I would love to say that I always have but if I did I wouldn’t be telling the truth.  Not including these last couple of years, any type of plant or flower that ended up in my care would die.  I did try taking care of them, so them dying wasn’t because of lack of trying, I’m just not sure why things always died.  Anyways, now I am able to keep indoor and outdoor plants alive.  Now, because of the addition, I have made plans to build a few outdoor plants which I think will be fun.

However, it’s not only growing things that I enjoy.  I also enjoy the wildlife that ends up in our yard.  We have a lot of birds, but almost everyone does.  I enjoy feeding the birds.  A sure sign for me that spring is here is when I get woke up in the morning by a Robin singing outside my window.  And now that it’s finally starting to really warm up, the humming birds have also come back.  And that is where this story has been heading.  I love feeding the humming birds.  I put up the feeders and sometimes I’ll sit out there for hours just watching them buzz about.  I even like to snap a few pictures of them when I can.  Some of these humming birds are new comers so they’re not used to me yet, but overall I’m allowed to get fairly close because they know I’m not going to injure them.  They too can learn how to trust.  And because I can get so close to them, I can sometimes manage to get fairly good pictures of them.  That’s what I enjoy.

So my family and I aren’t the only ones benefiting from this addition.  Because we haven’t been spending as much time on the addition, I now have a bit more time to spend on taking care of the birds.  I know it’s not necessary, but I enjoy it.  I also enjoy walking out the back door and throwing a handful of bird seed out for the Robins and the Sparrows.  It’s almost like they sit there and wait for it because the ground is cover in birds within seconds.  It’s a smorgasbord!!
